GigaDevice Announces New GD32F5 Series Cortex®-M33 High-Performance MCUs

NUREMBERG, GermanyApril 9, 2024 — GigaDevice, a global leader in Flash Memory, 32-bit Microcontrollers, Sensors, and Power Management, has officially launched the GD32F5 series of high-performance microcontrollers.

Built on the Arm® Cortex®-M33 core, these units are engineered for demanding industrial sectors, including photovoltaic energy storage, industrial automation, PLC, network communications, and graphic displays. Notably, the series is compliant with the IEC61508 SIL2 functional safety standard.

Technical Specifications & Performance

The GD32F5 series is designed to handle complex processing tasks with high reliability:

  • Core: Arm® Cortex®-M33
  • Frequency: Up to 200MHz
  • Performance:31 CoreMark®/MHz
  • Accelerators: Advanced DSP hardware and single-precision Floating-Point Unit (FPU).
  • Power Supply:71V to 3.6V.

  • On-chip Flash: Up to 7.5MB (including a 2MB zero-wait execution Code-Flash area).
  • SRAM:
  • Reliability: Full ECC verification for both SRAM and Flash.
  • Features: Supports 2MB Read-While-Write (RWW) OTA upgrades for seamless updates.
  • External Expansion: EXMC supports SDRAM, SRAM, ROM, NOR/NAND Flash, and PC Cards.
